Cirus maxima - completely agree, each NP a mere planning authority, when I take visitors from abroad around scotland they are shocked that our so called national parks put development before species conservation, 2000 Capercaillie so lets build more towns - anti conservation and SNH, well remember Dr John Reid stated Home Office was not fit for purpose - same applies, the SNH wildcat action plan and raptor presecution strategy for instance - completely and utterly ineffective

Its widely recognised in the conservation movement that both of our National Parks are failing to conserve the natural heritage that they were set up to protect for the future.

They have become little more than "development agencies" which seek to exploit the parks resources.

They take their political lead for this from the anti-conservation Scottish Government and the "corrupted" agency Scottish natural heritage.

Sad times.
